Samples of Current and Past Educational Classroom Materials

The samples shown of my work will be able to give you some good background information about my current and past classroom instructional materials.   In addition, some of the methods I use as an instructor to deliver above average test results for the state and federal licensing exams and the students learning outcomes.

Breaking News the Film

This is a current ongoing project with the Journalism and Mass Communication and Pan African departments at Kent State University for Breaking News the Film.  I authored and developed the student educational and movie website in May and June 2010.  I am currently the  Assistant Producer and the website & social media coordinator for this full length feature film.  The premiere of the movie will be December 1, 2010 at the Kent Stage.

The Anatomy of Writing Your Professional Bio

Are you an unknown in the world of film?

Or an up and coming talent with the capacity and aptitude as a professional filmmaker?

The answer to this question in a large degree is up to you!

1. The information that you provide about your skill set is fundamental to the world’s understanding of you, and as how you are viewed as a respected filmmaker.

2. Therefore, being viewed as a respected filmmaker will radically increase your odds of your work being found when someone stumbles upon the production lists or articles.

This short 5 minute video and the follow along worksheet will provide you the needed information to be able to write a bio that will help you stand out in the crowded field!

Happy Viewing,

ROBert

Introduction to Foreclosures

Here is the opening lecture from a class I instructed last year.  It assists the student in understanding of the current reasons as to why homeowners are defaulting on their property.  I felt it important to put a persons name to each type of default so the students would better be able to remember them.

Scaffolding as a Teaching Strategy

Scaffolding instruction is a teaching strategy that originated from Lev Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory and his concept of the zone of proximal development  (ZPD).  It facilitates a student’s ability to build on prior knowledge and to internalize new information.  The activities provided in scaffolding teaching are just beyond the level of what the learner can do alone.  So that the learner can accomplish (with assistance) the tasks, that he or she could otherwise not complete, thus helping the learner through the ZPD.  With the goal of the instructor, using this strategy is for the student to become an independent and self-regulating learner and problem solver.

With is assignment the student learns about the different residential government mortgage available in the State of Ohio.

Spring 2010 ITEC Projects

How does today's teacher integrate new cutting edge computer technology into the classroom in a ways that improves the student's ability to learn the material and subject matter?

Here are two links to websites that I co-wrote and developed that demonstrate several methods that can make it happen in today's public schools.
